nemi reads the full ingredient list of cosmetics sold in Japan and shows what each ingredient is, along with a score for the product. Every product page is built by transcribing the ingredient list from the manufacturer’s own page or from a trusted Japanese retailer.
If your products are missing, or something we show about them is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it. Data that comes directly from the brand is better than anything we can gather ourselves, and we would rather have it.
What we need to list a product
- Product name, exactly as it appears on the package
- JAN code (the 13-digit barcode number)
- The full ingredient list, written the way it appears on the package or your official page
- Size, and any shade or variant information
- A product image — a clean shot of the product on a white background works best
- For quasi-drugs (医薬部外品), the active ingredients marked separately from the other ingredients
For a large range, a spreadsheet or CSV is fine. Ask us and we will work with whatever format you already have.
Listing is free, and it cannot change a score
We do not charge to list a product, and there is no way to pay for a higher position or a better score. The score is computed from the ingredients and their order in the list, so sending us your data does not make a product score better.
What it does do is prevent us from showing something inaccurate about your product. That is the whole reason for this page.
Reporting something we got wrong
Corrections are welcome — a mistranscribed ingredient, a wrong product name, an old formula still showing. Send the product name or JAN code together with a source for the correct information, such as a link to your official page, and we will check it and update it.
