These terms (the "Terms") govern your use of nemi (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
- nemi is intended for users 13 and older.
- When creating an account via federated sign-in or email verification, please provide accurate information about yourself.
- We may suspend access if account misuse is detected.
2. About the Service
nemi is an app that provides cosmetic ingredient information and safety scores for reference. The information is based on publicly available safety databases and academic literature, evaluated independently.
nemi is not a medical service. Scores and explanations do not diagnose, treat, or prevent any skin condition or health concern, and are not a substitute for advice from a doctor or pharmacist. Please consult a medical professional for skin issues.
3. Subscription (Pro)
- The paid plan "nemi Pro" is provided as an auto-renewing subscription via your Apple ID or Google account.
- Pricing: ¥500 per month or ¥4,000 per year (tax included).
- Charged at purchase time and at every auto-renewal via your Apple ID or Google account.
- Cancel anytime via the App Store or Google Play subscription management screen. If not canceled at least 24 hours before the next renewal date, the subscription auto-renews.
- Except as required by law, we do not refund used periods. Refunds are governed by each platform's policy.
- We do not currently offer a free trial. If we offer one in the future, we will announce it in advance.

4. AI-generated content
Some ingredient explanations and research notes are generated using Anthropic's Claude AI. See our AI Policy for details. AI output may occasionally contain errors; please consult multiple sources for important decisions.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or automated bulk access
- Reselling information obtained from the Service for commercial purposes
- Using nemi's generated content (ingredient explanations, research notes, scores) as training data for AI/ML models without our prior consent
- Infringing the rights of other users or third parties
- Acts contrary to law or public order
- Interfering with our operations
6. Intellectual property
The software, design, logos, scoring algorithm, and explanatory content of the Service belong to the operator or rightful holders. You may use the Service for personal use; reproduction, modification, or redistribution without permission is not allowed.
7. Disclaimer
- Product and ingredient information may differ from current realities due to brand reformulation or regulatory changes. Please refer to the product label and the brand's official information for final decisions.
- The ingredient evaluations provided by the Service are independent reference information based on publicly available safety data, and are not a guarantee or denial of the quality, safety, or efficacy of any specific product.
- We are not liable for damages arising from your use of the Service to the maximum extent permitted by law.
- Temporary service interruptions for maintenance may occur.
8. Updates to these Terms
We will notify users in-app and on this page in advance of any meaningful change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court will be the court of exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance for disputes arising from the Service.

11. Compliance and statement of evaluation
nemi operates in accordance with Japan's Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act (薬機法), Premium Display Act (景品表示法), and other applicable laws. Ingredient safety ranks and product scores are calculated by a transparent, deterministic algorithm based on publicly available third-party safety data (EWG Skin Deep, cosmetic-ingredients.org, the JCIA INCI register, and others). Individual ingredient ratings should not be read as a final judgment about the quality or safety of any specific product that contains the ingredient. The Service aggregates and organizes publicly available data at the ingredient level; it does not make product-level safety declarations.
